What Do Hair Colour Levels 1 to 10 Mean?
The level system from black to platinum, with what each step actually looks like on a head.
Read more →Charts is the reference shelf: shade charts, level and tone conversions, developer and volume tables, and brand-by-brand colour listings in one searchable place. These pages exist to be open on a second screen while you work — they are tables, not essays, and they are laid out so you can read them at a glance with colour on your gloves.
Where a brand publishes an official numbering system, we reproduce the naming exactly and note the brand's own caveats rather than paraphrasing them, because a shade chart is only useful if it matches the tube in your hand. Where two brands use the same number to mean different things — which happens constantly — the conversion tables spell that out instead of pretending a straight swap is safe.
Each chart links to the formula pages and tools that use it, so you can move from "which tube is this" to "what do I mix" without leaving the Academy. We expand these charts as brands reformulate, and we want requests when a range you rely on is missing.
